Die Cast Machine: Quench Tank Modifications

Project Scope: Modify two DCM quench tanks to accommodate for larger  structural castings​

Design & Fabrication: Designed extension to increase quench tank size by 86% maximized to fill all available space. Saved Tesla $18,000 (or 60% of the cost) by expanding the current quench tanks instead of contracting new quench tanks and baskets. I assisted in fabrication using a water jet, horizontal band saw, and MIG welding. ​

Result: Both quench tanks now large enough for new and future castings.
