Die Cast Machine: Quench Tank Modifications

Project Scope: Design drop fixture that holds two models of structural castings. ​

Design & Fabrication: Designed drop fixture that is interchangeable with current casting drop fixture and 180-degree orientation holds either model of casting. All fixtures are identified via proximity sensors. I fabricated this using a water jet, horizontal band saw, manual mill, and MIG welding. ​

Result: Now have easily interchangeable drop fixtures for new structural castings.
